ADVENTURE CAMPING OUTDOORS IN SAN DIEGO
I loved camping as a child. Camping still has a special magic for us as adults. San Diego has almost year-round perfect weather almost year round. Having that alone makes outdoor adventures that much more enjoyable. Moreover, San Diego Campgrounds and RV parks in San Diego offer a variety of landscapes from mountainous terrain to beautiful bays and oceans, so you can stay outdoors all year round.
You have not lived if you have never spent a night under the stars.
If you're in need of a campground in San Diego County, whether you're pitching a tent or setting up your RV, here are some of the best options.
For over 50 years, Campland on the Bay has provided outdoor enthusiasts with RV and tent camping on the banks of Mission Bay and has been one of San Diego's most popular campgrounds.
Swimming and a hot tub can be found here, as well as bicycle rentals, a game room, skate park, basketball court, watercraft rentals, and campfires on the bay, which are among our favorite beach activities. The summer evening SeaWorld fireworks are also spectacular from this spot.
You'll find a restaurant / canteen, a market, an ice cream parlor, and ample kids' activities at the camping area. Laundry services are also available.
In April 2021, Costa Vista will open its doors as Southern California's newest upscale resort. With its bayfront location, this resort offers full hookup RV sites with private patios, stone paver fire pits, a dining area, tables and chairs, a picnic area, and free cable and internet access. We also rent one- and two-bedroom cottages with all the comforts of home. Guests can use the site's laundry facilities.

This community offers a spacious clubhouse with scheduled activities and movies, pancake breakfasts, steak dinners, and board games played by two massive rock fireplaces. Also on site are an outdoor heated pool, an oversized Jacuzzi, and a fishing pier. Those who camp in tents will find comfortable bathrooms, showers, and spacious dressing areas. A laundry facility and miniature golf course are located on site, as well as several outdoor sports courts.

Campers at the campground can choose from RV hookups, car camping, and tipi sites, among other amenities. Kids and families will enjoy the park's many games and activities. The restrooms and showers are open 24 hours a day. The property is dotted with picnic tables and fire rings. It is open to fishing and boating (though fishing permits and licenses are required). With bait and tackle supplies, firewood, propane, and snacks available at the lakes Bait and Tackle shop and campground entrance station, campers can help themselves to what they need while camping.
There is a KOA near De Anza Cove, just fifteen minutes south of downtown San Diego. San Diego's most popular San Diego camping resort and a great place for families. Campsites are available for RVs, tents, and deluxe cabins for those who don't mind a little less roughing it.
The resort has a beautiful sandy beach, calm cove waters, as well as a pool and hot tub. The facility includes many recreational options, such as a basketball court, horseshoes, a climbing wall, jumping pillows, a playground, ping pong tables, and a game room. Surf Shack Shootout is a super popular game from Surf Shack. It is welcome that pets stay at the resort, but they are not permitted to stay in the cabins.
Flashlight Lollipop Hunts and art and craft projects are organized by a full-time activities director. What do you think of a Movie Under the Stars? Just bring blankets and chairs. The prices for popcorn, cotton candy, and hot chocolate are incredibly low! Whenever you're camping, you must make Smores, an absolute must.

Admission tickets to Safari Park or proof of membership are required. Several camp activities are included in the adventure package park offer, along with tent accommodations, dinner, breakfast, and smores.
A park where birds and other animals roam freely is one thing, but falling asleep to the sounds of them is another. This wildlife experience is truly unforgettable when you couple it with the roaring of lions and the clear, star-filled sky.
Located in Southern California State Parks, San Elijo State Beach is a beautiful place to set up camp and fall asleep to the sounds of the surf. There are 165 campsites in the park, with 1/3 located on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

Campers here can hook up their RVs, trailers, or tents. There is a world-famous surf break right down the road from the campground, where guests enjoy sunbathing, swimming, surfing, and beachcombing. Close by, you can go fishing and watch whales.
You can also find dozens of restaurants within walking distance of the park, another advantage of camping here. Camping purists will appreciate the on-site BBQ grills. Campsite tables, fire pits, fire rings, picnic tables, restrooms, and showers round out the amenities. Beach camping is incredible if you've never done it before!
